EarMaster includes exercises in identifying intervals, scales and modes, chords, chord inversions, chord progressions. You will also find exercises in transcribing melodies and rhythms, and in reading or imitating rhythms.
Earmaster Pro 5 - Highly interactive
EarMaster gives instant visual and audio feedback on everything you do. You can interact with EarMaster using the staff or multiple- choice, or using one of the onscreen instruments: piano, guitar, bass, violin, cello, banjo and more. With a microphone you can sing, clap or even play your answers on your favorite instrument. EarMaster also supports MIDI input from for example a keyboard.
Earmaster Pro 5 - Monitor your progress
EarMaster provides you with detailed information on your progress. Have my ear improved at identifying e.g. the minor 7th chord within the past 2 weeks? Do I answer faster? How much time did I spend training my ears in the past month? EarMaster provides all this information for you.
Earmaster Pro 5 - Do I need ear training?
Music is really all about hearing! An internal sense of pitch, rhythm, dynamics, etc. You use your ear to recognize notes, intervals, chords, major / minor tonality, scales, seventh chords, dominants, and so forth. Does your ear perceive the difference between, for example, major and minor scales? or between a 4th and a 5th?
A Musical Ear is the single most important skill for musicians, but most musicians have poor aural skills because they do not practice ear training. Are you one of them?
Earmaster Pro 5 - What can ear training do for me?
Do you know the frustration of trying to play some music in your head, but it just doesn't come out right? This is an example of what ear training can help you to improve. Ear training will help you to:
- Play the music you intend to play
- Understand the music you hear
- Hear the music in your head when you read it
- Bring together sight and sound
- Ear training develops greater musicality, confidence and enjoyment of music. You will experience that a Musical Ear helps you when you play music, sing, notate, improvise, compose and transcribe. Ear training will give you a better understanding of all the things you are doing with music. You will notice things you did not hear before, and your errors becomes easier to see so you can correct them and learn from them.
Earmaster Pro 5 - How do I get started?
The traditional approach is to get someone helping you, or to buy an ear training course on audio CD. There is, however, a much better alternative... EarMaster Pro!
