"Overall Native Instruments Battery Studio Drums is an exceptionally crafted drum library and a great entry into the soundware market for Native Instruments. Truly outstanding is the way that all of the drums sound and perform on Studio Drums, especially with up to 16 sampled velocities for the snares, bass drums and toms." (Top ranking: 5 stars out of 5) Soniccontrol.com. "The conclusion on Native Instruments Battery Studio Drums is short and clear: d...... good. The samples are crisp and clear, sound very best, and are usable in a wide range of digital studio projects. I know it looks suspicious when in any online review the highest possible rating is given, but I give Native Instruments Battery Studio Drums a 10. It is just that good. Just as plain simple as that." Audiomac.net, NL, 05/2002. "The recordings are impeccable. Even uneffected kits sound superb an their own, while the General MIDI standard of each patch makes it simple to slip any of the full kits into your track. Left- and right-handed hits are often available - making for some extremely realistic fills and rolls - and the multi-layering makes each kit remarkably expressive." ... "This collection really is a beauty". Ranking: Ten points out of ten. Computer Music, UK, 06/2002 "Battery Studio Drums is a sparkling collection of ultra realistic high quality drum sounds, mapped to take advantage of Battery's multiple velocity layers. The result is a high level of expressiveness not often found in traditional sample libraries." ... "This collection emphasizes the realism of drum kits played in a studio environment, and are particularly well suited to Pop, Rock and Jazz, however funk, soul, blues, grunge, hip hop and big beat are also represented by their own kits.
