TC Electronic Fabrik C Fabrik C - channel strip par excellence for PowerCore
The Fabrik C is a full-blown EQ, de-esser and 3-band/full band compressor in one single plug-in - in short, the Fabrik C has all the qualities of a channel strip. With the Meta Intuitive Navigation Technology (MINTTM) you have total control of all the parameters, using only a few dedicated knobs. The EQ is a 4-band parametric EQ with high/low-pass filters - choose between 4 different filter types. Based on no-nonsense design, the de-esser is based on one fader that gives you total control.
Unlike other compressors, the Fabrik C comes with an inbuilt 3-band intelligent compressor. But of course you can also choose the more common technique and switch to full-band compressor mode. Use the Fabrik C as an insert on your channels - it's probably one of the best and most optimized tools you can use for that job.

The Fabrik of PowerCore The PowerCore Fabrik R and Fabrik C are the new and innovative plug-ins for the PowerCore platform. They are based on the innovative Meta Intuitive Navigation Technology (MINTTM) that redefines the way you use professional audio plug-ins for professional results.
We've integrated a simple yet highly effective and intuitive approach to working with audio, and the result is a UI that you'll be operating in a jiffy. Often people think that if you want to create professional results the process has to be tedious and complex - we don't agree.
The Fabrik plug-ins introduce a new way of working with audio, and they build on proven and award-winning TC technology, ensuring the highest level of audio quality.
MINTTM - the Meta Intuitive Navigation Technology We've gone to great length to rethink the way people work with audio. Often you spend more time tweaking a bunch a parameters and presets, and less time just listening and responding intuitively to what you hear. We want to change that, and for that reason we've invented MINTTM - Meta Intuitive Navigation Technology
MINTTM is a design and programming philosophy that transcends traditional "UI thinking", and it enables you to respond fast, intuitively and with total control.
But that's not all, you get instant gratification when you work with MINTTM based tools. What this means is that whenever you alter a parameter, you will instantly hear the difference. You've probably tried working with a plug-in where you end up spending a lot of time tweaking and adjusting parameters with no noticeable effect? Stop wasting your time and get instant gratification with MINTTM.
To make things real easy we've made a UI design that just makes life easier. When you choose an object in the UI, the background will automatically change, bringing all relevant information and possibilities into your immediate reach. Please look at the animated gif which will give you a rough idea about how the MINTTM designed UI will make life a whole lot easier for you.
By now you should have a pretty good understanding about what we're trying to achieve with MINTTM. If not, we think you should give it a try and experience MINTTM for yourself. We're sure you'll be quite surprised to learn that it only takes a few simple controls to work intuitively and professionally with audio. And most importantly, we are convinced that you'll start to listen more closely to your audio. Don't forget that what really matters is what you hear - let your ears back into your audio!
Tech Talk The Fabrik C is a three-in-one plug-in featuring proven TC technology. It is divided in to three application based tools, all of which benefits greatly from the intuitive UI that builds upon the novel Meta Intutive Navigation Technology.
EQ The EQ is a 4-band parametric EQ that gives you all the control over high- and low-pass filters. It is easy to switch between the four filter types which are Notch, Parametric, Shelving and Cut. If you're looking for a razor sharp filter, use the Notch filter which has a range as low as 0.01 of an octave. For a more gentle approach go for the shelving filter that sports a variable slope with a range from 3dB/oct over 6 and 9 to 12dB/oct. The Cut filter can be switched between a flat amplitude maximum of 12dB to an octave, and a flat group delay type. For a natural and "well behaved" bandwidth, apply the parametric EQ.
De-esser The De-esser has been designed to do the job with as little hassle as possible. For that reason we've given it one fader and no more. This way you have instant control and direct access to everything you need. Move the S knob to what source you want, and the De-esser connects itself to that source. Once that is done, the De-esser knows what frequency it has to take care of and you don't have to worry about that. Adjusting the amount will determine how much the frequency is suppressed. It couldn't be easier or simpler.
Compressor The compressor in Fabrik C is a Full band/3-band compressor that gives you a more versatile approach to compression. In 3-band mode, it divides the signal into three separate frequency bands, and applies the compression to each band independently. So, instead of doing the same compression on the entire signal, you can apply different levels of compression to each band, making you able to carefully pick the part of the signal that you want to work with. This is a more intelligent way of working with your material, and it even avoids quite a few side effects compared to the traditional methods. But if you prefer to use the traditional full-band method which also has great advantages, you simply just switch into that mode.
Source Select page Moving into the Source Select page you can choose which of 16 different sources you want to work with. That means that you've always got easy access to many different sources, speeding your work process up. Tip: remember to work on all your sources. The Fabrik C makes it so easy to work with audio that there's no reason to "cut corners".
Gain Page A simple and straightforward page, but nonetheless important. Here you control the gain input of the compressor section and the "make up gain". Working with gain setting often determines the outcome later in the process, and that's the reason why this page is made as simple and intuitive as possible: to ensure that you just do it right, the first time. Tip: basic knowledge of audio production is a good thing. But don't forget to listen to the actual changes different settings make. You'll be surprised how often we forget to listen to what we're doing...try it.
Compression Page Entering into the Compression page you get instant control over three bands. Set the thresholds for the low, mid and high band as you please. The UI is designed in such a way that if you for instance move the knob to the "Lo", the low band will have the most compression. Basically it's pretty simple to navigate, and remember, you're working in three bands here. Tip: if you want to, you can set the same threshold for all three bands, it's as easy as it can be. The important thing here is that you and your ears are in charge, and there's virtually no restriction.
Level Page Setting the right level can be a bit tricky to do right, not least due to the hazards of too many knobs. We've made it pretty straightforward for you. If you're thinking: "I would like to make the low band the loudest", simply move the knob to the "Lo" area, and there you have it, mission accomplished. Tip: again, you should always use your ears instead of your eyes. What you might see as ok, might sound completely differently with your eyes closed.
